Shakespeare builds tension throughout the play in many ways. One of which is when casca makes his speech in act 1 scene 3. Shakespeare uses pathetic fallacy to tell us we are getting closer to Caesars death. When casca says, “Men all in fire walk down the streets”. This quotation shows us the unsettled atmosphere  in the Capitol which had been caused by the presence of Caesar, which implies Caesars time has nearly come. Casca also says “against the Capitol  I met a lion who glaz’d upon me and went surly without annoying me” I think that the lion is Caesar because lions do not walk by someone without biting, growling or doing any harm. Casca says the   lion (Caesar) passes by him without disturbing him. This could mean that Shakespeare is trying to tell us that Caesar seems harmless but is just waiting for his moment to strike or to be striked which adds to what I previously said which is that Caesars time has nearly come.
