Jays alarm went off at 6:40 “BEEP BEEP”. It was time to get up and ready for school. Jay got up rather lethargicly and walked slowly to the sitting room. His belly rumbled, he guessed he was hungry. He ate his normal breakfast, coco pops with milk, then flung his school uniform on. Jay continued his average weekday morning. He left home and made his way to the local bus stop to catch the 381. It came faster than usual, 2 minutes to be exact. Jay hopped on the bus and sat on his normal seat, upstairs, 1 away from the back, on the right. The bus started its journey. The bus was unusually quiet today as it was normally a very busy bus. Jay also had this odd feeling he was being watched. “Maybe I’m just being anxious” Jay thought to himself. After a short while the bus unexpectedly stopped. The driver spoke through the tannoy. “The bus terminates here the next 381 will be here in approximately 20 minutes”. Jay stomped in frustration, “that’s the second time this week” exclaimed Jay. He got off the bus and sat at the bus stop. He had no idea where he was as he didn’t know the area very well. It was quiet. It was cold. Jay checked the time it was 7:20 “I’m definetly going to be late” he thought to himself. He tried to ring his mum. Straight to voicemail. He tried his dad. Straight to voicemail. Knowing no other way to school Jay say at the bus stop waiting for the next 381. After a minute Jay was startled by a rusty, black bus with no numbers which stopped at the bus stop. The driver opened the door and repeatedly shouted “REPLACEMENT FOR THE 381 REPLACEMENT FOR THE 381!”. THERES ONLY ONE OF US!” Jay screamed. “Oh sorry my boy” said the driver “I forgot my glasses back at home; hop on” Jay said nothing. He got on the bus frowning as he stepped up. “I thought the next bus was in 20 minutes” Jay asked the driver while he drove the grimy bus. The driver simply replied “Change of plans”
