I disagree with the statement as not all teenagers are lazy and not all lazy people are teenagers! People always focus on teenagers being lazy and monstrous and not what stage their going through in life; puberty. Which proves those who critise a teenagers behaviour clearly haven’t heard of a hormone which heavily affects a teenagers sleeping pattern.
Teenagers have a hormone named ‘melatonin’,which is released to allow us to sleep, but when your a teenager it is released at 1 in the morning, causing us to be tired. So is laziness really our fault? No it’s not! Are you starting to reconsider?
Now calling us monsters? That’s just monstrous! Yeah we may get a bit aggressive or angry sometimes, but lack of sleep means what? Moodiness. Science proves this. Is it really our fault? Think again! Now you call us monsters but are we all knife-carrying, fighting and robbing pensioners? No that’s the minor percentage, but because the media only likes the interesting stories, they would rather tell us about teenagers stabbing someone than telling us how teenagers are focusing on their learning and how our grade level percentages have rised. We rarely see on the news how a teenager is helping the community out. The world urges violence, why not shade out the violence and encourage good behaviour? Instead of promoting violence and encouraging stereotypes.
I should not be one of the few teenagers arguing against these negative, prejudice comments against innocent teens. We need more people to help us on this campaign as it is a clear stereotype, which can be stopped, but just needs some encouragement.
Moving on, we are humans, Just like you. We’re not “lazy” and we are not “monsters” and if so, metaphorically of course, there is a pretty good reason. Is it really that once a child blows their candles out on their 13th birthday they turn into a lazy monster? No! The truth is that we have matured and start recognising certain aspects we do not agree with, so we talk back, argue our point, debate. This is the point where we are called monsters. Are we not considered humans? Can we not make our point? Can we live? Can we breathe? Adults are telling us that teenagers making good arguments and making you feel bad is a bad thing? No it’s not! It’s a sense of intelligence, don’t tell us we can’t be clever now! Teenagers need to start defending themselves and more importantly stop this continuous bullying.
Not all of us are monsters, and we do not all rob pensioners for 10 pounds. The truth is the majority of us are in school studying for a good cause. then there is the minority of ‘bad’ teens on streets getting involved in gangs and commiting unnecessary crimes; giving us teens a bad name, stop showing us these bad teens, it is only going to make us think, “is that all we are, are we just all criminals?”. Stop pushing it in our face that we are all knife carrying, gang involved teens as the majority of us our in school, playing sports, the list goes on. I bet if there was statistics the majority of criminals were adults. On the news how old are the criminals most oftenly? Adults. Which proves my fair point.
Now I think this is something not debated over enough, the teens that are involved in gangs are beings persuaded by who? Adults. Adults use teenagers, innocent teenagers, to do jobs and get money for them through persuasion,(money items, etc) which eventually, not to my suprise the teen ends up getting involved in serious crime. Then that teen takes the place of the adult and does his job. It’s an ongoing system. Which Isn’t stopping and needs to stop. Therefore that proves my point, is it really teens that are the real monsters? Adults are the real “lazy monsters”
Concluding my essay I disagree with the statement “teenagers are lazy monsters” as I believe it is a clear stereotype and is not argued for enough.
